Jubail University College and Jubail City Center Connectivity

Project Overview

Performed the role of client consultant to study the potential interconnection between two district cooling projects and development of strategies to operate the district cooling system to match with the cooling load demand growth. To accomplish the above, different combinations including different ways of connectivity, different possible operation scenarios, different potential load growth within first district cooling plant (36,000TR) vs the big district cooling plant (120,000 TR) site, different combination of plant growth were evaluated. Supporting the client in evaluating the different possibilities of contracting mechanism like O&M contract for the small plant and concession agreement for the large District cooling facilities to potentially forming a single umbrella contract between both cooling plants covering the O&M needs and district cooling concession agreements. Perform detailed engineering after conclusion of the best optimum way forward after brain-storming sessions with the client’s stakeholders. Performed hydraulic analysis for the JUC and city center connectivity by evaluating JUC pump stations. Supported very elaborate tariff study along with E&Y for multiple combinations of operations.
